July 4th Code Findings

We thought the message was clear, but apparently it wasn't. We received this email on July 7th: 

"So, did anything bad happen anywhere on the 4th of July - as the bible code said it would? When will you be reporting on this? Maybe these bible codes are a fake. Thanks."

It was only 1 email, but we want to make sure everybody knows what is going on. 

It was first reported by Bill Koenig at http://watch.org. He said that somebody found a code with "July 4th, 1999," "Horror," and "America."  We received over 30 emails asking us to confirm this report during the middle two weeks of June. We contacted Bill, and he said that the person who found it did not save it and lost it. Don't misunderstand us, Bill is a wonderful guy who loves the Lord, and we love what He is doing. He has found some great codes about Sept, and we'll get a news article about that soon. Our webmaster asked J.W. Embry, and a few other staff members to search for "July 4th, 1999" in the codes. It was never found at a respectable interval. However, J.W. found a code with "July," "4th," "1999," "America," "Horror," and "Destruction" all in the same matrix. For those of you who don't understand why it's so hard to use the codes to predict the future, this will help you understand. As we clearly stated on our site, before June ended, "nothing SIGNIFICANT has been found about July 4th, 1999, only a few minor codes that probably are not significant." The code that J.W. found is one of those. Here it is:

J.W. found this in late June. We didn't put it up because, as J.W. knew right away also, it is NOT significant. It is a significant code, but the validity of the July 4th claim, depends entirely on whether the date in this code is meant to be there. Could the date be there by chance? Consider this:

January: 2 times 
March: 14 times 
May: 8 times 
August: 826 times (This word can also mean "Father" or "Parent" -- it's only 2 Hebrew letters) 
September: 2 times 
October: 1 time 
November: 1 time 

As you can see, July and 4th are in no way associated with 1999 in this matrix, so even if no other month was found, you still wouldn't know. This is why it is so hard to use the codes to predict the future, this is why we didn't show any codes before hand, and this is why we disagree with those who dedicate their lives to finding codes about the future. The codes are meant to give Glory to God and show His Awesomeness, not to warn us of future events as Drosnin suggests. 

So for those of you who agree with that email above, please know that "the code" did not say anything about July 4th, it was researchers that did. Please know also that with none of these comments are we referring to Bill Koenig or anyone involved with him. We love and support what Bill is doing, and he never marked July 4th as anything more than a possibility. It was the people who heard about it, who don't know much about the codes who got so excited about it. This is why we don't release information about future codes unless we give a strong word of caution as we did with the Y2k Code Finding.
